Jonathan’s passion for nature was kindled in his childhood, spending extensive time camping, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and hunting. Over the past decade, he has honed his skills across various environments, training with experts and schools nationwide. His comprehensive approach to wilderness living is akin to a multitool, encompassing a wide range of techniques and methodologies.
In 2018, Jonathan moved to Southeast Alaska to work as a canoe guide and naturalist at Davidson Glacier. This experience required him to live off-grid, reinforcing his wilderness skills and deepening his connection with nature. The challenges and rewards of this lifestyle inspired him to transform his passion into a full-time career.
As The Bearded Burton, Jonathan shares his outdoor adventures and expertise through various social media platforms. He is also a brand ambassador for several companies, testing and showcasing outdoor gear. His content, rich with photography and videography, aims to inspire others to explore and appreciate the outdoors. His motto, “Get Outside and Enjoy The Woods,” encapsulates his mission to ignite a love for nature in others.
